A Step Ahead Child Development Center is a family-owned and operated facility that was established in 1999, giving us over 19 years of experience in quality child care. We are a center with educated, experienced, and qualified teachers who have obtained their Early Childhood Credentials in Education. All teachers at A Step Ahead are required to attend and complete 15-20 credit hours of training annually, be certified in Infant/ Child CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogens. All our staff has a complete background check including FBI and SLED. A Step Ahead is known for its great reputation for having little teacher turnover. Our staff has been with us now for 17 years, 10 years, 6 years, etc., providing a very stable environment for children at our center. Having a stable environment enables children to have that necessary feeling of safety and comfort. The owners, directors, and teachers at A Step Ahead CDC are committed to providing an excellent educational and caring center for children. Our family-owned and operated center always has an owner/ director present for yours and your child’s needs. We feel that to be passionate about children and their needs, you must be at your center interacting with the children and observing what those specific needs are.
A Step Ahead Child Development Center serves the Myrtle Beach, Conway, and Surrounding areas of South Carolina and is a family-owned and operated center.
A Step Ahead is equipped with security cameras in all rooms; with a monitoring system always in operation. We are known for our smaller classroom sizes with low child-to-teacher ratios. A large chaotic classroom with an excess of children is not an environment where children can creatively grow, learn, and express their individuality and uniqueness. Your child is not just a number at A Step Ahead; but part of a growing family.

About the Owner
A Step Ahead CDC is owned and operated by Terry and Sally Moore. Our center is directed by Ms. Sally, and the assistant director is Ms. Amy, Terry and Sally’s daughter. This mother/daughter team are South Carolina certified and have obtained B.A. Degrees in Early Childhood Education. Sally and Amy attended Coastal Carolina University and graduated in 1998. A Step Ahead Child Development Center was established in November 1999.
